Steven A. Krieger, Attorney

Steven A. Krieger

Mr. Krieger has over twenty years of public interest advocacy and experience. His passion is helping people gain access to legal remedies, and in serving traditionally underserved or marginalized populations.

Mr. Krieger earned his Juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law, David J. Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy in 2011. Prior to law school, Mr. Krieger earned a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Michigan School of Business in 2002.

Mr. Krieger has been frequently recognized as a top lawyer by the likes of Legal Elite, Arlington Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, and many others. 

Mr. Krieger has published five scholarly articles on access to justice issues:

Katarina Nguyen

Katarina Nguyen

Ms. Nguyen is experienced working in family law, contracts, and civil litigation and arbitration both domestically and internationally. She obtained her Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center and her Bachelor of Arts from Christopher Newport University.

Ms. Nguyen is licensed to practice law in Virginia and the District of Columbia.

Assya Thode

Ms. Thode began her work with Steven Krieger Law in 2014, as the Executive Assistant to Steven Krieger. She has an associate’s degree equivalent from Algeria and has over 16 years of experience in the legal field. Additionally, she has extensive international experience, having worked in consular services for U.S. embassies overseas. She also received professional training in consular processing at the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Service Institute.

Ms. Thode grew up in Algeria and studied fashion design at the institute there before coming to the United States. She speaks English, French, Spanish and Arabic. In her free time, Ms. Thode enjoys reading and painting.

Melannie Dino

Melannie Hutzelman Dino is the Lead Family Law Attorney at Steven Krieger Law, PLLC, practicing exclusively family law. An attorney since 2001, Ms. Dino has been practicing family law exclusively in Northern Virginia since 2004. For 19 years, Ms. Dino’s experience in courts across Northern Virginia, has included contested divorce matters, custody, support, high value equitable distribution cases, protective orders, marital agreements, prenuptial agreements, post nuptial agreements and post-divorce matters.

Ms. Dino grew up in Erie Pennsylvania and was one of five children. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communications in 1996 from Clarion University of Pennsylvania. She then earned her Juris Doctor from Widener University Law School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1999. Upon graduation, Ms. Dino first returned to Erie to work in the law practice of her father, Stephen Hutzelman, a prominent bankruptcy attorney in Erie for more than 40 years. While in Erie, Ms. Dino had her first taste of family law, working in a thriving family law practice of her Father’s partner. By 2004, Ms. Dino had moved to northern Virginia to continue pursuing her passion for family law and has practiced family law ever since.

In 2014, Ms. Dino was named one of the Ten Leaders Under Age 45 in Matrimonial & Divorce Law in Northern Virginia. In 2017-2018 Ms. Dino received Top Contributor Award from Avvo. In 2019, Ms. Dino received the prestigious AV Preeminent rating (the highest possible rating) for ethical standards and legal ability from Martindale Hubbell. In 2019, Ms. Dino received an award for 10 Best Attorneys, from Virginia American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. Ms. Dino currently holds a perfect 10.0 rating from Justia.

Ms. Dino resides in Loudoun County with her husband and two children.

Grant Mandsager

Grant Mandsager has experience in a wide range of litigation matters – from disputes between landlords and tenants, contractors and their clients, defamation claims, and defending multibillion-dollar mergers.
 
Mr. Mandsager believes in the SKL philosophy that lawyers work best when they provide practical solutions that meet their clients’ needs.
 
Mr. Mandsager has lived in Arlington since 2008 with his wife and three children. He enjoys cycling and soccer in his free time.
 
Mr. Mandsager is a member of the Virginia State Bar. He attended New York University School of Law (2008) and received his undergraduate degree from Amherst College (2004).
Jennifer Moss

Jennifer Moss

Ms. Moss began her time with Steven Krieger Law in 2019. She brings a decade of customer service experience to the firm. Often the first point of contact, providing compassionate and empathetic support to clients is where her focus lies.

In her spare time, Ms. Moss enjoys cooking, crafting and spending time outdoors with her dogs. 

Sonja Aoun

During her legal career, Sonja Aoun has developed extensive experience in the field of family law and works hard to protect her clients through the separation process and beyond. For over twenty years, she has helped families throughout Virginia resolve their legal matters and obtain peace of mind during some of life’s most difficult times. Recognizing the need for planning that extends beyond separation and divorce, Ms. Aoun also provides estate planning to ensure families are able to protect themselves and their loved ones from financial disaster. 

Ms. Aoun has earned the respect of clients and colleagues alike for her creative problem-solving, her effective trial advocacy, and the informed, compassionate, and ethical approach she brings to family and estate matters. She has a passion for helping families with a special commitment to finding solutions for children with special needs.
 
Her practice addresses all aspects of family law including separation agreements, divorce, custody, visitation, property division, child support, spousal support/alimony, premarital settlement agreements, post-nuptial agreements, enforcement of agreements, modification of orders, stepparent adoptions and adoptions of adult children. She has the experience and knowledge to effectively handle these matters from their inception through negotiation, mediation, trial, and appeal, as necessary.
 
Ms. Aoun is skilled in handling complex and highly nuanced divorce and custody cases. She has helped military families, state department families, and others facing relocation. She works with special needs families, blended families, LGBTQ families, high net worth families, and families with closely held businesses.
 
Ms. Aoun works with experts in the fields of real estate, special education, financial planning, vocational rehabilitation, immigration, and mental health to ensure her clients receive the best possible outcome.
 
In Ms. Aoun’s estate planning practice, she prepares wills, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, and trusts to preserve her clients’ wealth and ensure that their families are protected. As part of her estate planning practice, Ms. Aoun emphasizes planning for the future care of her clients’ children. For many families, arranging trusts, guardianships, and conservatorships is essential to safeguard their loved ones’ futures. In such circumstances, Ms. Aoun provides careful guidance.
 
Ms. Aoun has been honored to be named one of the Best Lawyers in America in the field of family law, and has been named to the Virginia Super Lawyers list every year since 2014 and to the Washington, D.C. Super Lawyers list since 2015. She received the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award in 2015 and maintains the highest available 10.0 rating on Avvo.com.
 
Ms. Aoun frequently speaks on various aspects of family law at seminars for separating families and at legal education courses for attorneys. She volunteers her time as a mentor for law students at the Georgetown University Law Center and serves as an attorney mentor with the Fairfax Bar Association’s mentorship program. She is a dyslexia advocate, and she volunteers her time to support special needs families and alleviate homelessness and hunger. She and her children prepare monthly meals for The Lamb Center in Fairfax City, serve as volunteer chefs with Lasagna Love, and run a neighborhood food drive for families in Burke Centre.

Jason Brost

Mr. Brost represents clients in litigation, business transactions, and regulatory compliance.  He has amassed extensive experience successfully defending and pursuing claims for businesses and individuals in commercial, employment, and real estate disputes in state and federal courts throughout the United States. Outside of the courtroom, he advises clients on intellectual property protection, employment law, corporate structuring, and all manner of commercial contracts.  He obtained both his Juris Doctor (2006) and his Bachelor of Arts (1994) from the University of Notre Dame.  Prior to attending law school, Mr. Brost was a history teacher for nine years.

Mr. Brost is licensed to practice law in Virginia, the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Illinois.

Kathryn Marcou

Kathryn Marcou is a civil litigation attorney with a focus on family and landlord-tenant law. Prior to joining Steven Krieger Law, PLLC, she gained valuable experience in both legal services and private practice. Her expertise spans a range of family law issues, including divorce, custody, equitable distribution, and prenuptial agreements, as well as representing tenants in eviction proceedings.
 
Originally from Upstate New York, Ms. Marcou earned her Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political Science from SUNY Geneseo, where she was also a collegiate field hockey player. She went on to receive her Juris Doctor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
 
Ms. Marcou now lives in Fairfax County, Virginia with her family and is licensed to practice law in Virginia, New York, and Texas.

Sareny Rodriguez

Ms. Rodriguez is a litigator who works on a variety of matters including landlord-tenant, contract law, and general civil litigation. Prior to joining Steven Krieger Law, PLLC, Sareny worked as a commercial litigator handling premise liability insurance defense for individuals and corporations. Sareny began her career as an Assistant District Attorney in New York City handling misdemeanor and felony cases in the Special Victims Division. Sareny was also an attorney advisor at the US Department of Labor focusing on appeals of Longshore Workers Compensation Act and Defense Base Act cases. Sareny is a graduate of Pace University (cum laude) and Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. 
 

 

Taylor (“EW”) Eggleston-Williams

Ms. Eggleston-Williams (“EW”) joined Steven Krieger Law in 2024 as an Associate Attorney with a
focus on civil litigation, and experience working across a wide breadth of practice areas, including real
estate, landlord-tenant, contracts, consumer protection, and defamation. She has been an active member
of the D.C. Bar in good standing since her admission on July 4, 2021.
 
EW graduated from Boston College (“B.C.”) in 2015 with a B.A. in Political Science and History. While
admitted as a “Double Eagle” to B.C. Law, EW graduated with her J.D. in 2019 from Suffolk University
Law School Boston, attending on full-tuition merit scholarship. During law school, EW acquired
extensive legal experience working as a full-time paralegal in criminal defense. She routinely played a
crucial role in countless matters of criminal litigation involving both state and federal charges. EW also
has extensive professional experience in politics and government, including work on Capitol Hill,
political campaigns, public policy, and lobbying on behalf of domestic and international clients.
 
EW resides in the DMV with her 12 year old Beagle mutt, “Chief.” She enjoys substitute teaching literature and persuasive writing at her local high school alma mater, makes homemade butter every holiday season, and very proudly drives a Lincoln.
James Granoski

James Granoski

Mr. Granoski has been practicing law since 1991. He has represented clients and appeared in state and Federal courts in Virginia and Washington, D.C. 

James is an experienced litigator and transactional attorney, with a broad-based background of legal work, which includes Civil, Criminal and Commercial Litigation, Commercial Contracts, Mergers and Acquisitions of Small Businesses, Real Estate, Estate Planning and Probate, and Landlord/Tenant representation. Obtaining favorable results for clients is what Mr. Granoski’s values the most.

Lawan Ranawaka

Lawan is a litigation paralegal who supports the firm’s work in creditors’ rights, contracts, landlord–tenant, and family law matters in Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland. He assists with drafting pleadings, preparing affidavits, and managing cases from pre-litigation through judgment enforcement and post-judgment executions.

Admitted as an Attorney-at-Law in Sri Lanka, Lawan practiced in the areas of fundamental rights and criminal law before immigrating to the United States in 2022. He earned his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) with Honours from Staffordshire University (UK) in 2017 and is currently pursuing his Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the University of Maryland Carey School of Law, with a focus on the American legal system toward U.S. bar qualification.

Outside of his legal work, Lawan is an experienced wildlife photographer, enjoys hiking, and loves to play the guitar.

Crystal Bouldin

Ms. Bouldin brings over 25 years of customer service to SKL, which makes her a great fit for handling the first line of communications on behalf of the firm to clients, courts, opposing counsel or parties, or anyone else who contacts the firm. She has a Bachelors in Healthcare Management and loves working with people. 
 
In her free time, she enjoys crafting and spending time with her dog.  Ms. Bouldin has been with SKL since April 2023. 

Angela Trocchia

Mrs. Trocchia brings several years of experience working in the legal field, particularly in the areas of family law and personal injury in the Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. court systems. She spent two years studying International Government at the University of Lynchburg as part of their Honors Program and played collegiate Women’s Lacrosse. She is passionate about helping individuals navigate the complex legal system and finds it extremely rewarding. 
 
In her personal life, she enjoys a variety of outdoor activities with her husband and their German Shepherd, Auggie.
