Navigating H-1B Visas and Employee Rights

The H-1B visa gives non-U.S. citizens a legal way to work in the United States in fields where it has been determined that there is a shortage of American workers.

If you are an employer looking to hire workers under the H-1B program, we would be happy to assist you in navigating the H-1B application process.

If you are in the United States with an H-1B visa and your employer is doing any of the following, we would like the opportunity to help protect your rights:

  • 1. Not paying you at all — perhaps because the employer does not have a project or sufficient work for you;
  • 2. Underpaying you — each job has a minimum wage requirement based on the profession and location, which is known as the “prevailing wage”;
  • 3. Failing to provide you comparable benefits, such as health insurance; and/or
  • 4. Making unfair deductions from your wages for expenses like the costs of the visa, rent, etc.

Don’t let your employer violate the agreement they signed when you were hired. Steven Krieger Law fights for your rights and will help you understand the intricacies of the law.
